SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT

Dr. French recognized Junior Nick Mendez for his participation in the NASA STEM Enhancement in Earth and Space Science High School Intern Science Symposium. SEES is a collaboration between NASA, The University of Texas at Austin’s Center for Space Research, and NASA Texas Space Grant Consortium and is a nationally competitive STEM program for high school students. The program provides selected students with exposure to earth and space research. Interns learned how to interpret NASA satellite data while working with scientists and engineers in their chosen area of work.

Dr. French also applauded Jon Hallock, Caldwell High School Athletic Director. He was awarded the Idaho High School Activities Association Dick Fleishmann Memorial Award. The award is given to one Athletic Director in the State each year in recognition of their work and dedication to running State Tournaments for the IHSAA. Thank you for being a role model and for serving the student-athletes in Caldwell and across the State.

PATRON INPUT

• Nicole Tackle provided input on the T-Mobile funds and Policy 2425 Parental Rights.

REGULAR AGENDA

• T-Mobile Discussion - Trustees continued the discussion on how the District should use the $200,000 T-Mobile funds. Board Members discussed their thoughts and ideas on the best ways to use the funds. Trustees will hear from Kathi O'Bannon and Chuck Randolf from CFEO in September. 
• Internet Security Measures - Trustees heard from Caleb Shore, Director of Technology, about the Districts Security Measures on the internet. The District has multiple safety measures in place to keep students safe on the internet including web filters and a firewall system. Andrew Crowell, System Administrator, spoke to Trustees about how the web filters work for both students and staff throughout the District.
