April 24, 2023 Special Board Meeting

Sources of Strength - Trustees heard from Hannah Crumrine, Youth Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the State Department of Education, about the Idaho Lives Project and Sources of Strength (SOS). The mission of SOS is to prevent adverse outcomes by increasing wellbeing, help-seeking, resiliency, healthy coping, and belonging. Caldwell High School and Jefferson Middle School have implemented the program. 


My Perspectives Resource - Trustees discussed the District’s use and extension of the My Perspectives English Language Arts (ELA) Curriculum to 6th grade students. My Perspectives is the approved curriculum for 7th and 8th grade ELA. Board Members will review and discuss My Perspectives at the May 8, Regular Board Meeting.


Superintendent’s Contract - Members of the Board voted to accept and approve Dr. French’s contract for an additional year.


Code of Ethics - Board Members reviewed and signed the Trustee Code of Ethics. 


COVID-19 School Operation Plan for 2022-2023 - Southwest District Health did not provide an update this week.


Future Agenda Items - Trustees did not discuss any future agenda items.


Adjournment - The Board of Trustees will meet again on Monday, May 8, 2023, at 7:00 pm for the Regular Board Meeting at the Caldwell School District Office, Vernon DeMark Board Room, 1502 Fillmore, Caldwell, Idaho, 83605.
