October 10, 2022 Regular Board Meeting

SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT

Dr. French recognized the Caldwell Youth Forum. Students from Caldwell High School and other area high schools came together to celebrate an exchange of ideas, ideals, and forward thinking to further advance established initiatives pertaining to campus culture. The Caldwell Youth Forum will be presenting to the Board in November.

 

Trustees also heard from Abigail Aguirre, Senior at Canyon Springs High School. She shared her plans for after high school and upcoming events happening on campus.


PATRON INPUT

  • Tammy Dittenber expressed her appreciation for the Trustees and the work the District is doing for the students of Caldwell.

REGULAR AGENDA

  • Community Schools - Hortensia Hernandez, Community Schools Coordinator, provided Trustees with an update on the Community Schools Program in the Caldwell School District. The program recently expanded to include two more schools, Washington and Lincoln Elementary. Community Schools help identify opportunities and barriers for students and families which help to connect them with the community resources that will best meet their needs. Trustees had the opportunity to hear from the Community Schools Liaisons, teachers, and families. 
  • COVID-19 School Operation Plan for 2022-2023 - Trustees reviewed recent COVID-19 data and information provided by Southwest District Health.
  • Future Agenda Items - Trustees did not discuss any future agenda items.
