May 9, 2022 Regular Board Meeting

SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT

Dr. French recognized the Caldwell High School FFA program. Justin Ruhl, the Agriculture Teacher, shared with Trustees about the growth of the programs, students, and classes. Students shared what they have learned during the various conferences they have participated in throughout the year.  


Dr. French also applauded the success of the Caldwell High School Band program. Several students received superior ratings at District III Solo and Ensemble. During the State Competition Sedrick Call and Alex Ramella received Superior ratings. The first Caldwell High School Horn Club received a Superior rating and earned 6th place in State. The Percussion Ensemble also received a superior rating.

REGULAR AGENDA

  • Strategic Plan - Trustees approved the 2022-2027 Strategic Plan. This plan will help the Board of Trustees, Administrators, Superintendent, Staff, and District Leadership Team document and establish the direction of the district. The plan was shaped by school district staff, high school students, Board Members, and community and business members through a series of in-person and online planning and strategizing sessions. Anne Ritter also discussed with Trustees the process of how the plan was created and the importance of sharing it with staff, administrators and parents.
  • Graduation Update - Anita Wilson, Principal of Caldwell High School, Christine McMillien, Principal of Canyon Springs High School, shared statistics and information about each school's graduation process. There are currently 239 Seniors at CHS and currently over 80% of them are on track to graduate. CSHS looks forward to graduating 46 students later this month. 
  • School Board Summer Retreat - Members of the Board discussed ideas for their School Board Summer Retreat. 
  • COVID-19 School Operation Plan for 2021-2022 - Trustees reviewed recent COVID-19 data and information.
  • Future Agenda Items - School start times, Boys and Girls Club
