January 24, 2022 Special Meeting

Mayor Jarom Wagner -  The Board of Trustees heard from Mayor Jarom Wagner about the growth and development of the City of Caldwell. He wants to continue the relationship between the City and the School District. Mayor Wagner would like to encourage high school students to participate in the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council as well.


Boys and Girls Club - Melissa Gentry spoke to the Trustee’s about expanding the Boys and Girls Club in Caldwell. Board members reviewed and discussed a plan for future designs and remodeling at Indian Creek Academy, where the Boys and Girls Club is currently located. 


CFEO request to terminate agreement - Trustees heard from Amy White, the District’s Attorney, on the CFEO request to terminate agreement. The Board will vote on the agreement at the next Board meeting on Monday, February 14, 2022.  


501C3 - Board Members discussed several options for the CFEO funds. The Board will continue to discuss the best use for the money.


Assault Rifles - The District’s attorney Amy White provided information to the Trustee’s on the purchase of assault rifles to be used by School Resource Officers. 


COVID19 School Operation Plan for 2021-2022 - The Board heard from Mike Stephenson, Director of Caldwell Transportation Company, about the shortage of bus drivers around Caldwell and the surrounding areas. CTC has been working hard to make sure students get to and from school on-time. 


After reviewing a presentation of student and staff absences from across the District, the Board of Trustees voted to require masks for all students and staff until the next Regular Board Meeting on Monday, February 14, 2022. The Board agreed to give Dr. French the discretion to lift the mask requirement after discussing with building administrators if student and staff absentee rates steadily decrease.


Future Agenda Items - Boys and Girls Club, CFEO agreement, assault rifles, and 501C3.


To meet again - The board will hold its regular scheduled board meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022. The meeting is open to the public and will be live-streamed.
