February 14, 2022 Regular Meeting

SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT

Dr. French recognized Elizabeth Webster, a senior at Caldwell High School. Eli took advantage of the $4,125 allotted through Fast Forward Funds through the Advanced Opportunity Program. She has been able to take college classes, buy books, and participate in unique opportunities. 

 

Brian Sullivan and several of his students were recognized on the expansion of the health occupations program at Caldwell High School. He is an Authorized Training Provider for both First Aid/CPR and FAST (First Aid for Severe Trauma). Mr. Sullivan can now certify students in these areas. This will benefit our community and our school.

  • Nicole Trakel commented on the Search and Seizure policy and the Supplemental Levy.
  • Leslie Blair spoke to the Districts COVID-19 Operations Plan 2021-22.
  • Eric Davis spoke about the Supplemental Levy  
  • Rachel Johnson commented on the COVID-19 Operations Plan 2021-22.

REGULAR AGENDA

  • Boys and Girls Club - Melissa Gentry, Director of the Boys and Girls Club, spoke to the Board about the possibilities of future construction of the ICA building which would allow the Boys and Girls Club to expand their operations. 
  • Supplemental Levy April Burton, Chief Financial Officer, and Jessica Watts, Director of Communications, explained the process of how the District plans to communicate information to the public about the 2022 Supplemental Levy. Examples are brochures, newsletters, and social media posts.
  • Non-Profit Organization - The Board will continue to discuss the best use for the money.
  • CFEO Request to Terminate Agreement - On the recommendation of the Districts Attorney, Amy White, the Board voted to accept the CFEO Request to Terminate Agreement.
  • SRO Rifles - The Board voted to not purchase these types of rifles on the recommendation of the Districts Attorney. 
  • Completion of Superintendent Evaluation - Trustees voted to approve the 2021-22 Superintendent Evaluation. 
  • Superintendent Contract - The Board approved the extension of the Superintendent Contract to the 2024-25 school year. 
  • COVID-19 School Operation Plan for 2021-2022 - After reviewing and discussing recent COVID-19 data and information, the Board of Trustees voted to extend the mask requirement for all students and staff through Friday, February 18, 2022. Beginning Monday, February 21, 2022, masks will be recommended.

The Board will continue to review COVID-19 data and absentee reports for both students and staff. Trustees will revisit the mask expectation in the coming weeks if necessary.

Trustees also voted to lift the mask requirement for visitors beginning Monday, February 21, 2022. Masks will be recommended for individuals who are visiting a school or District facility.
