SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT

Board Members recognized Caldwell School District Employees who have served in the US Armed Forces in honor of Veterans Day. 

Students from Caldwell High School spoke about their experience at the Hispanic Youth Leadership Summit last month. Seniors took home more than $400,000 in scholarships to Idaho Colleges and Universities.

Dr. French also recognized the Student Council at Caldwell High School for earning the Outstanding Student Council and Etique Awards. 


Caldwell High School Report - Nic Mendez, Student Representative from Caldwell High School, provided Trustees with an update on academic, athletics, and activities. 

Canyon Springs High School - Charlotte Rodriguez, Student Representative from Canyon Springs High School, shared information about Purple Ribbon Week, Credits Earned, Lottery Grant, and fundraisers.

REGULAR AGENDA

  • Supplemental Levy - On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Caldwell School District Voters approved a $4.1 million Supplemental Levy. The District will be able to access these funds for the 2025-2026 school year. It will be included in the 2025-2026 budget. 
  • Student Achievement Data - Trustees heard from Melissa Langan, Chief Academic Officer, on the District’s curriculum and pacing calendars. Instructional Coaches from Jefferson Middle School and Caldwell High School also shared information on how they are using these and implementing it in their schools. In addition, Jesi Stockdale, College and Career Counselor at Caldwell High School, provided information about the PSAT/SAT.
  • School Safety - Dr. French provided Trustees with an addendum to the Eagle Eye Security Contract. Board Members will review and discuss the addendum and bring it back in December. 
  • Superintendent Evaluation - Trustees reviewed and discussed a new Superintendent Evaluation form that was given to them during the ISBA Conference. Board Members voted to approve and use the ISBA Superintendent Evaluation form as a living document for future evaluations.   
  • Nov. 25 Board Work Session - Trustees voted to remove the November 25, 2024, Board Work Session unless otherwise needed. 
  • Future Agenda Items - Have Mr. Hart come speak, update website photos
