SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT
Dr. French recognized six Jefferson Middle School students for their outstanding writing abilities. Middle School students from across the state participated in the 2024 Idaho Youth Writing Challenge, and six JMS students placed in the top 100. Students were tasked with writing poems on the theme of Love Languages in Healthy Relationships. Jefferson submitted 20 poems and six students placed and won a $25 gift card.
The Caldwell High School Wrestling and Cheer teams were also recognized for their successful seasons this year. The Cheer team won the 4A SIC District Championship. In addition, the boy's wrestling team placed 6th in State and the girls' team placed 11th. Three student-athletes recently committed to wrestle in college.
In addition, Dr. French honored the District’s Student Representatives for their hard work and dedication all school year.
Caldwell High School Report - Nick Medenz, Student Representative from Caldwell High School provided Board Members with an update on student and senior highlights and future events at CHS.
Canyon Springs High School Report - Era Salazar, Student Representative from Canyon Springs High School, provided Trustees with an update on field trips, graduation, and school year successes.

REGULAR AGENDA
- Migrant Students DC Report - Trustees heard from Erica Maldonado about their recent trip to Washington D.C. Migrant students had the opportunity to see the government in action, network, and learn about the history of the United States. Alexis Waterman also spoke to Board Members about Canyon Springs students' experiences during the trip.
- Caldwell High School Accreditation Summary Review - Board Members heard from Principal Anita Wilson on the Caldwell High School accreditation process. CHS has been accredited for over 100 years. The accreditation review provided information on practices, strengths, recommendations, and areas of improvement,
- CTE Perkins Measures Summary 2022-2023 - Principal Wilson provided Trustees with information on the CTE Perkins Measures Summary for the 2022-2023 school year. This summary includes data on post-secondary graduates.
- AP and Dual Credit Classes - Trustees heard from Jesi Stockdale, College and Career Readiness Counselor at Caldwell High School. Mrs. Stockdale provided Board Members with information on advanced opportunities, dual credit, and advanced placement courses.
- Computer Science Curriculum Adoption - Melissa Langan, Chief Academic Officer, provided Trustees with information on the District's Computer Science Curriculum Adoption. Elementary, Middle, and High School representatives were also in attendance to provide information and answer questions. Board Members voted to approve the Computer Science Curriculum Adoption.
- Caldwell Transportation Co. (CTC) Contract - Dr. French informed Trustees that North America Central School Bus Company is purchasing Caldwell Transportation Company. The North America Central School Bus Company does not provide a chartered bus service. Trustees voted to accept the recommendation to amend the CTC contract to exclude the charter school bus service from the contract.
- Easement Agreement with Jayhawk Estates & City of Caldwell - Dr. French provided the Trustees with an update on the Easement Agreement with Jayhawk Estates and the City of Caldwell.
