BOARD TRAINING

  • Executive Session - James Stoll from Anderson, Julian & Hall Law Firm, spoke to Trustees about expulsion hearings and student discipline procedures. He provided Board Members with information on District Policies and Idaho Code. 
  • Board Best Practices - Anne Ritter, ISBA Representative, provided Trustees with information on best practices for School Board Trustees. Anne Ritter discussed public participation, board meeting procedures, and operating principles.
  • CEE Survey Data - Dr. French reviewed the Districts CEE Survey Data and discussed ways to improve and relay this information to the public and administration. 

BUDGET PRESENTATION 

  • Cheryl Sanderson, Chief Financial Officer, provided Trustees with information on the District’s Budget expenditures. Board Members discussed transportation costs, Supplemental Levy Election, FCC funds, and state allocation funds.

BOARD BUSINESS - 

  • School Security - Trustees heard from Dr. French about the grant opportunities available for School Security funding. Dr. French also briefed Board Members about federal funds available to use for safe and secure schools.
  • Pay to Play - Trustees voted to accept the Districts Pay to Play Fees for the 2024-2025 School year.
      • CHS Student-Athletes will now pay $100 per sport with the 3rd sport fee waived
      • Spirit Pack costs vary by individual programs
      • CHS ASB Card $50
      • SMS Student-Athletes will now pay $50 per sport with the 3rd sport fee waived
      • Spirit Pack costs vary by individual programs
      • SMS ASB Cark $35
  • Plant Facility Report - Trustees reviewed the Districts Top 20 facility needs.
  • Bond Consideration - Trustees reviewed and discussed possible bond considerations in the future.
