SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT

Dr. French recognized Jason Reoblero-Lopez for his service as the Student Representative for Canyon Springs High School. He graduated in December.

Dr. French introduced Era Salazar who will serve as the new Student Representative for Canyon Springs. 

Dr. French also provided Trustees with information on the Interest-Based Bargaining Training (IBB) that took place on February 6th with Kath Yamamoto. In addition, Dr. French spoke about the District's new partnership with Project Filter. This is a new in-depth training and will help educate students on the dangers of youth vaping.


Caldwell High School Report - Nick Mendez, Student Representative from Caldwell High School, provided Trustees with an update about the school's recent academics, activities, and athletic events.

Canyon Springs High School Report - Era Salazar, Student Representative from Canyon Springs High School, provided Trustees with an update on testing, early graduates, and attendance campaign.

REGULAR AGENDA

  • Canyon Springs High School - Trustees heard from Shelli Rambo, Principal at Canyon Springs High School, about the school's new Operation Graduation initiative. Ms. Rambo provided information on the students they serve, the curriculum, and academic support.
  • Van Buren Elementary School - Ty Harding, Principal at Van Buren Elementary School, provided Trustees with information on using iStation data effectively. Mr. Johnson, a third-grade teacher, discussed how the school organizes and reviews data for each grade level.
  • ISEE Update - Dr. French and Cheryl Sanderson, Chief Financial Officer, spoke to Trustees about the Idaho System for Education Excellence (ISEE). This will be spoken more in-depth at the March Board Meeting. 
  • Future Agenda Items - Trustees did not discuss any future agenda items.
