Below is a summary of the Caldwell School District Board of Trustees Oct. 14, 2019 meeting intended to provide information about board decisions in a timely manner. It is not the official record. The minutes, which are the official record of the meeting, are finalized the following month after approval by the Board.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
The Board met in executive session starting at 6 p.m. After returning to open session, the Board approved accepting a recommendation to allow a student to return to Canyon Springs with a behavioral and academic plan in place.
CFEO OUTSTANDING STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD & RECOGNITIONS
Caldwell High School - Principal Anita Wilson recognized Senior Avery Hawkins who was recently recognized as a National Merit Semifinalist for Idaho based on her performance on the PSAT as a junior which placed her in the top 1% of students.

REGULAR AGENDA
Potential Subdivisions Planned for Caldwell - Superintendent French reviewed a map with several subdivisions being planned in the district’s boundaries. The district is working with Davis Demographics to plan for future growth. A report from the company is expected after January.
School Safety Update - Superintendent French updated trustees on safety planning and the district’s adoption of common crisis commands: lockdown, hallcheck, evacuation, and reverse evacuation. The district and schools are checking the radio systems as well as reviewing the public announcement systems in the schools.
