Advanced Opportunity Summer School » Courses

Courses

Classes may meet in a variety of formats. This will allow more flexibility for students and staff. Students will be able to take up to four credits during Advanced Opportunity Summer School. When you register for your exact classes, you will be informed of the type of schedule the class will follow.

 

  • Blended Model - Classes will have some face to face instruction either in the morning or in the afternoon session and some online coursework using Google Classroom.
  • Online - Classes only use Google Classroom and Google Meets.
  • Condensed Format - Class meets all day for a short period of time i.e. 2 weeks for 6 hours a day.

 

*All teachers will conduct office hours every week.

 

Students may take two overload courses during the June session.  Yearlong courses will continue to meet through July. Most semester courses will take place in June only, some may be offered in July only.  All course choices will be verified for pre-requisites by the academic counselor before a student is enrolled.

 

June Classes will start on Monday, June 6, 2022, and run through Thursday, June 30, 2022, on the following days: June, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30.

 

*Not all days are required attendance. Some days will be designated as teacher office hours where students can get additional help.

 

July Classes will start on Thursday, July 7, 2022, and run through Friday, July 29, 2022, on the following days: July, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29.

Morning session: 9 am - 12 pm.  

Afternoon session: 12:30 pm - 3:30pm.

  • Health
  • Computer Applications
  • Monsters & Heroes
  • Intro to Health Professions
  • Body and Character Strong-Leadership Course
  • P.E.
  • Economics (June Only) (For Current Juniors Only)
  • Speech (July Only) (For Current Sophomores Only)
  • US History I (For those who took one semester previously in Summer School)

 

Yearlong Courses we plan to offer: June & July

  • US History I 
  • US History II (Prerequisite is US History I)
  • Business Essentials
  • Math I & II
  • Senior Project - The course will be offered mostly online. Community service is required. Current Juniors Only.  The course will start in June and will run through the first week in August, when students will give their presentations. 
 

*Other courses may be added if teachers are available. Students will register through the link emailed to them on their school email.
