Warning: Students CAN Delete Themselves from Google Classroom

As teachers and students are transitioning between quarters and semesters, it is very tempting to start trying to clean up dashboards in Google Classroom.  Many teachers do not realize that students have the ability to "Unenroll" from Google Classrooms whenever they want to and the teacher does not get a notification when this happens.  Some of our students are dropping themselves from all of their old Google Classrooms so that they can focus on their new classes for the new grading period.  It is a good practice for teachers to check your Google Classroom rosters against your Skyward rosters periodically to look for times when a student purposely or accidentally dropped themselves from a Google Classroom.

When a student "unenrolls" from a Classroom, the teacher no longer has access to the student's work or their scores on that work.  This is a good reason for all of your "grades" to live in Skyward instead of Google Classroom.  (The same situation happens if a student moves class periods... when the student or teacher unenrolls the student from that class, the scores do NOT transfer with the student to the new Google Classroom).  The student will still have access to all of their assignments in their Google Drive but the teacher will not be able to see any of that work.
