SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT

Dr. French recognized Caldwell High School's FFA program. Justin Ruhl, FFA's program advisor, along with students, spoke to Trustees about the program's events, leadership opportunities, and career development. In addition, Dr. French also applauded the cheer and wrestling teams for bringing home some state hardware.

Caldwell High School Report - Nick Mendez, Caldwell High School Student Representative, provided Trustees with an update on the school's academics, athletics, and activities.

Canyon Springs High School - Maxwell Petersen, Canyon Springs High School Student Representative, provided Trustees with an update on the school's field trips, career day, and Special Olympics.

REGULAR AGENDA

• 2025-2026 Calendar - Spring Break - Melissa Langan, Chief Academic Officer, provided Trustees with a 2025-2026 Calendar Change proposal. Trustees voted to approve the recommendation to move Spring Break for the 2025-2026 school year to the week of March 16-20, 2026, and to hold Parent Teacher Conferences the week of March 23-27, 2026.

• Idaho Power Cohort - Trustees voted to join the Idaho Power Cohort.

• 2025 ISBA Leadership Institute - Trustees will let the Clerk of the Board know if they are interested in attending the ISBA Leadership Institute.

• Future Agenda Items - Canyon Springs High School Building, Plant Facilities - Athletic Facilities, Math Curriculum 

POLICY DEVELOPMENT/ADOPTION

Request to Rescind

Trustees voted to Request to Rescind the following policies:

• Policy 415 Suspension of Certificated Professional Employee (2013) - (conflicts with Policy 5130 Administrative Leave)
• Policy 430 Qualifications and Training Requirements of Instructional Paras (2016) - (should have been replaced by Policy 5710 Support Professionals)
• Policy 433 Political Activities Within the School (2009) - (outdated)
• Policy 451 Public Office State Legislature (1974) - (outdated)
• Policy 456 Reading Program In-Service Training (2015) - (outdated - the literacy course is required for certification)

Errata Revisions:

Trustees voted to accept and approve the Errata Revisions for the following policy:
