Langan named Chief Academic Officer

Melissa has successfully served Caldwell School District students for 26 years, beginning her career as a fifth grade teacher and serving the past 12 years as principal of Van Buren Elementary School.  

 

As Caldwell School District’s Chief Academic Officer, Melissa will lead the district’s support for teaching and learning including curriculum adoption and implementation, assessments, and professional development for instructional and administrative staff. 


“Melissa is exceptional at creating and nurturing professional learning communities focused on using research to guide learning at high levels for all students,” said Superintendent N. Shalene French. “Melissa has high expectations for herself and for those she serves. Her skills, talent, and experience will help advance our shared work to continue to improve outcomes for all the children we serve.”  


Melissa also teaches educational leadership for the College of Idaho and she is a Certified Project GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) Trainer.


Melissa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Boise State University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Capella University.
