Missing and late work are realties of any school year and they might be an even bigger issue this year.  Teachers across the district are dealing with finding ways to accommodate the diverse needs of learners and working to be fair and equitable with assigning grades during remote and hybrid learning models.  Our K-8 teachers are also tackling the pedagogical concepts of standards based grading and providing students with multiple opportunities to demonstrate mastery for a particular learning topic is definitely a best practice!

 

One of Skyward's shortcomings as a grading platform is that the system is set up to automatically lock at the end of a designated grading period.  Here are the instructions for reopening your 1st quarter gradebook to allow for improved student success:
