Below is a summary of the Caldwell School District Board of Trustees August 25, 2025, Special Board Meeting, intended to provide information about board decisions in a timely manner. It is not the official record. The recorded live stream of the meeting is available here.

Brabeion Academy - Trustees heard from Mr. Branden Durst on a new charter school opening called Brabeion Academy. The school will be located in Canyon County.

Enrollment Update - Tamara Lawson, Director of Student Information, provided Trustees with information about the District’s enrollment.

Budget Update - Cheryl Sanderson, Chief Financial Officer, provided Trustees with information on the District budget, including supplement levies, plant facility levy, federal monies, and state funding. The District plans to reconvene the Plant Facility Committee to discuss District maintenance needs.

Driver’s Education - Trustees heard from Mr. Rob Norman on the District's Driver’s Education Program. All four Driver's Education Sessions are now full. The first parent meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

Award Construction Management Bid - Bernie Carriera, Director of Maintenance and Operations, asked Trustees to approve the Construction Management Bid with Beniton Construction. 

Sacajawea Student Handbook - Trustees voted to approve the 2025-2026 Sacajawea Elementary School Student Handbook.

Personnel Report - Trustees voted to approve the Personnel Report.

Alleged Open Meeting Violation - The Board acknowledged there was an appearance of alleged open meeting violations at the July 14, 2025, and August 11, 2025, Board Meetings.  Trustees made the following motions regarding the violations. 

Trustees voted to deny the reassignment of employee #04-24-2025.

Trustees voted to remove the letter from employee #04-24-2025 file dated February 26, 2025, to the letter dated May 8, 2025.

Trustees voted that the grievant be granted to start the grievance process at level 1, referring to Caldwell School District Policy 1020, if the grievant so chooses.
