Mission Statement:

To provide the opportunity to pursue a high school education and diploma in an alternative setting, maximizing each student's potential through individualized education in a safe, friendly environment that is conducive to learning.

The Canyon Springs Motto is: Laying a foundation for growth, one student at a time.

The three key foundational elements (our vision) used to guide instructional practices at Canyon Springs are: Academic/Professional/Technical (Learning To Work), Skills For Life (Learning To Think), and Physical Health (Learning To Live).

To truly be the best chance of success for our students, the staff has embraced the Seven Cornerstone Strategies To Improve Student Performance, as put forth in Breaking Ranks II:

• Adjust curriculum and teaching strategies to achieve enduring understandings.
• Increase the quantitiy and improve the quality of interactions between students, teachers, and othe school personnel.
• Implement a comprehensive student advisory program.
• Use a variety of strategies and assessments to accommodate individual learning styles.

• Increase involvement and decision-making by students, teachers, family members, and the community.
• Provide additional professional development opportunities to improve learning strategies.
